Terms, conditions & studio policies

What to know before sending us your artwork: how it is assessed, received and kept safe, and how its records are documented and used.

  1. 01Virtual pre-assessment & physical examination

    • Preliminary estimates. Remote pre-assessments conducted using digital photographs are initial diagnostic approximations only. They do not constitute a definitive quote or a binding technical assessment.
    • Mandatory intake assessment. The final cost and treatment protocol will be established exclusively after a comprehensive physical, organoleptic, and microscopic examination of the artwork at the studio.
  2. 02Artwork intake, custody & logistics

    • Intake record. Upon physical receipt of an artwork, an official intake receipt will be issued detailing its condition at entry, accompanied by macroscopic photographic records.
    • Transportation responsibility. The studio provides specialized logistical advice for secure art transport. However, shipping costs, specialized packaging, and "nail-to-nail" insurance policies during transit are the sole responsibility of the client, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
    • Studio custody. The laboratory features physical security, preventive environmental controls, and professional handling protocols to safeguard all pieces during their scheduled treatment.
  3. 03Technical intervention criteria & documentation

    • Professional ethics. All treatments strictly adhere to international conservation standards (minimal intervention, materials stability, legibility, and full reversibility).
    • Justified variations. If hidden structural deterioration or underlying issues are discovered during treatment that require modifying the approved protocol, work will be paused, and the client will be notified immediately for authorization.
    • Final dossier. Upon completion, each artwork is returned with a comprehensive Final Conservation & Restoration Report documenting the scientific processes, materials used, and photographic records.
  4. 04Confidentiality & image rights

    • Collector privacy. The studio guarantees absolute confidentiality regarding the identity and personal data of the artwork owners.
    • Photographic records use. The studio reserves the right to use photographic records of the restoration processes strictly for academic, professional portfolio, or digital case-study purposes ("Cases" section), always omitting client personal information and the location of private collections.
